In the Meisel lab we combine C. elegans genetics with mitochondrial biochemistry to:

  1. Discover novel genetic suppressors of mitochondrial dysfunction

  2. Investigate the basic biology of electron transport chains and iron-sulfur clusters

  3. Understand how mitochondria adapt across tissues and cell types, with a particular focus on the nervous system
